Η Ομογένεια κήρυξε πόλεμο στα Σκόπια και «ξηλώνει» τη ψευδοΜακεδονία

Με σύνθημα «Αυτό δεν είναι το όνομά σου» (#ThatsNotYourName), με τη στήριξη του Αρχιεπισκόπου Αμερικής κ. Δημητρίου και της μεγαλύτερης ελληνοαμερικανικής οργάνωσης της «AHEPA» κι εν όψει των προεδρικών εκλογών στην χώρα, ξεκινά η Παμμακεδονική Ένωση των Η.Π.Α., από την Τετάρτη 13 Απριλίου 2016, την παγκόσμια εκστρατεία της μέσω του διαδικτύου και των κοινωνικών μέσων δικτύωσης της συλλογής υπογραφών (petition) με σκοπό την ανάκληση της λανθασμένης αποφάσεως της Αμερικανικής κυβερνήσεως το 2004 για προσωρινή αναγνώριση των Σκοπίων με το όνομα Μακεδονία.

Η Παμμακεδονική Ένωση των Η.Π.Α. ξεκίνησε το πρώτο στάδιο του εγχειρήματος συγκεντρώνοντας δεκάδες χιλιάδες υπογραφές «offline» από ενδιαφερόμενους Αμερικανούς πολίτες (Ελληνικής και μη καταγωγής), πέρσι τον Απρίλιο.

«Στηρίζουμε διαχρονικά την προσπάθεια της Παμμακεδονικής και ιδιαίτερα την νέα πρωτοβουλία για την συλλογή υπογραφών για την υποβολή υπομνήματος με το οποίο θα ζητείται η ανάκληση της αναγνωρίσεως της FYROM με το όνομα Μακεδονία», δήλωσε ο Αρχιεπίσκοπος Δημήτριος σε ανακοίνωση Τύπου που εξέδωσε το γραφείο του την περασμένη Πέμπτη, ενώ θα ακολουθήσουν σχετικές ανακοινώσεις στήριξης του εγχειρήματος από ομογενειακές οργανώσεις παγκοσμίως.

Πόσες φορές έχουμε ακούσει τις προηγούμενες ημέρες από τον Πρωθυπουργό και τους διαφόρους Κυβερνητικούς (και μη) τον όρο Greek success story;

 Η επιτυχία του Ελληνικού Μοντέλου δηλαδή….

 Φαντάζομαι ότι θα είμαστε ένα οικονομικό μοντέλο, που θα είναι αντικείμενο αναφοράς – μελέτης στις απανταχού Οικονομικές Σχολές των Πανεπιστημίων της υφηλίου.

 Ας δούμε λοιπόν σε φωτογραφίες από το Reuters, το Associated Press και το Αθηναϊκό Πρακτορείο Ειδήσεων, τι έγινε σήμερα [Μαΐου 15, 2013], έξω από το σταθμό του METRO, στο Μεταξουργείο, όταν οι πωλητές και έμποροι των Λαϊκών Αγορών, αντιδρώντας στην αλλαγή του καθεστώτος αδειοδότησης των Επαγγελματιών Πωλητών Λαϊκών Αγορών, μοίρασαν δωρεάν φρούτα και λαχανικά.

 Δεν κρίνουμε την αντίδραση των πωλητών και των εμπόρων στην αλλαγή του νόμου από την Κυβέρνηση….

 Κρίνουμε τις εικόνες που προκαλούν το θαυμασμό, για την επιτυχία του Ελληνικού Μοντέλου….

The man behind much of Tuesday’s market selloff is a 37-year-old Greek named Alexi Tsipras, the leader of the Coalition for the Radical Left.

When handed the right to try and form a coalition government in Greece, he told the world that the Greek bailout agreement is “null and void” and should be abandoned.

This sent global markets reeling because he could potentially unleash a series of events that would force Greece to leave the euro zone.

Besides abandoning the bailout, Tsipras said he’d like to nationalize the banks permanently, restore all salaries and pensions to their previous higher levels and bring back collective bargaining rights.

Upper Macedonia, Southern Vardarska, Gorna Makedonija, or Down Under Kosovo?

Much has been written lately about the future name of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Makedonija, to be settled with Greece. The former Yugoslav province left the collapsing Yugoslav union, in 1991 and declared independence, taking on the misnomer of Република Македонија, transliterated as Republika Makedonija.

The Greeks, whose northernmost province is the historic Μακεδονία/Macedonia, home of Aristotle and Alexander the Great among other greats of world history and culture, demanded that their new neighbors must choose a different name, not Macedonia. The former Yugoslav province, the Greeks argued, has no more than a small part (Pelagonia and part of Amphaxitis) of historic Macedonia proper in its land, mainly along its southern provinces.

Even accepting for a moment the Skopjan unhistorical definition of where Macedonia starts and ends, and wrongly for a moment assuming that all of FYROM’s land was part of Macedonia proper, FYROM still could not be called Macedonia. Even under that definition, it only constitutes a small part of the whole area of Macedonia proper, about 30%.

Last month, the National Post published an article entitled «A country called Macedonia» that contained scathing commentary about Greece – commencing with a reference to Greece’s economic strife and segueing into a critique of Greece’s opposition to the use of the name «Macedonia» by its northern neighbour. These accusations require a response.

Macedonia and the Macedonian identity have been integral parts of Greek history and culture since some of the first Hellenic tribes (known as Macedonians) settled northern Greek lands almost 4,000 years ago. Many renowned historians dispute the claims contained in the above-referenced article.

Apart from the ancient Greek kingdom of Macedon – which existed almost entirely in what is now modern Greece – there had never been another «state» of Macedonia until communist Yugoslavia

A rare collection of sources verifying the Greekness of Ancient Macedonians

1) Bury & Meiggs (1985) “A History of Greece”, page 415

 The Macedonian people and their kings were of Greek stock, as  their traditions and the scanty remains of their   language combine to testify.

 2)  H. Bengston  (1988) “A History of Greece: from the beginnings  to the Byzantine era”,  page 186.

Bengston makes the following statement pertaining to the origins of the Macedonians:

They should be included in the group of North-West Greek  tribes.

On the same page he also states that :

The majority of modern historians have correctly argued for the Hellenic origin of  the Macedonians.
